Handlebar risers,1" longer Hagon shocks, heavier Progressive fork springs,  Pirelli MT 60 tires and some cosmetics like the ribbed seat and tank pads.

Did that affect the handling or the seating since the back is jacked up a bit?  I'm looking at options to raise the seat.  Taller seat is one but longer shocks is another.

How are those tires working for you? To get the correct sizes for the V7 it a MT-60-RS 110/80R18 on the front and a MT-60 130/70-17 on the rear.

That's a radial on the front and a bias ply on the rear! I have read reports of people getting away with that but the info I have found from tire manufacturers and distributors say bias front and radial rear only, or don't mix then unless the moto manufacturer says it is OK.

Bought it dropped, so had to replace a few components. Front to back.

Headlight/speedo lowering bracket- 3d printed trim with added voltmeter (cosmetic)
Rizoma LED turnsignals (originals too conspicuous)
Bitubo fork adjustable drop in springs and caps (night and day over stock setup)
Agostini sport handle bars (originals were bent, the agostini feel short and sporty)
Machined lever controls
Barend mirrors
Mosfet voltage regulator (original failed at 1000km, then 1 more) no issues since
Wrapped headers (so I wouldn't burn myself anymore)
ZARD pipes (with db killers, running without) best value on the market at the time
Elk hide wrapped factory seat (original was scuffed)
Rear fender delete and LED brake light (cosmetic)
Bitubo adjustable twin shocks
Relay box for usb charging and voltmeter relay

Nah...just ran a Conti radial up front, and a Michelin bias rear all last season.  With tubes too.  Handled great.  And that is pushing it with the forks raised 10mm too.

I have not experienced any handling issues at least not up to 70 or so. I don't push too hard on twisty roads but again it does not feel Twitchy or unstable.

I figure if Guzzi is selling them off the floor with that combo I'll be fine. With several hundred miles on various roads and speeds I have not experienced any problems with the tires. Not sure I would use them for track days but that's not how I use my bike. Moderate speed riding I'm back roads is great and these tires are wonderful on dirt and gravel roads.

Sounds good. Moto Guzzi has "approved" that combo. But it doesn't mean that any radial front/bias rear is OK.

It’s a 16 V7II bought as a leftover when Guzzi had “deals”going . Out the door $7k
Since then .
Hepco Becker , 30 liter cases w/racks &tail rack & ctr Stand & crash bars (dealer discounted 15% all H-B)
Race-tech Ft. springs & fresh fork oil . Icon rear shocks
HH brake pads & bleed fluids (huge improvement)
Fat Ducks & de-cat-ed mufflers.Im sure not as good as the legendary Beetle map ,but a significant improvement over stock.
Conti Radials ,possibly best single improvement
Mirror extenders,Guzzi windshield, brighter headlight bulb w/relays to batt.
Sump extender. Re-paint ( OEM paint was poor)
Guzzi gel seat & tank pads (won @ Rally ! )
Shure seems like a lot , I’m hoping to ride & enjoy . It’s pretty well broken in @ 14k Mi.
No oil consumption & motor has smoothed out nicely

I wouldn't mind figuring out a more robust headlight bucket, it's a little rattly/tinny.

I also would like black handlebars, but the positioning is right so I feel stupid changing them.

No need to change exhaust, and though the forks are rather basic they do they job.

I could see springing for a Corbin, but I've got two other bikes that are better for distance, do I dunno.

I should probably upgrade the tail light someday, but I'm not in a rush obviously (going on 5 years).

Still love it.

UPDATE -

* Used silicone to seal the headlight assembly to the bucket, now it's less rattly
* Changed the Dart Marlin to a Emgo Viper cafe fairing
* Changed Cafe seat to a Corbin Cafe seat
* Added Knight Desgin 2" drop pegs
* Added KOF control peg drops

NOTE: I've had an LED replacement taillight bulb in a package on the workbench for something like 2-3 years.  :shocked:

2016 V-7ii Stornello bought last month with 400 miles..

Dropped the fork oil, mixed my own batch
Ikon rear shocks
Conti road attack 3 tires,
Built all my racks for C-bow, and many luggage options there.
Givi tank bag, and custom quick-look ring
Dart Classic screen,
Side stand fixed in my press
Removed all the aluminum side cover plates/headlight #plate
Removed all safety stickers/reflectors :evil:
Metal fuel filter. because I don't care for the real swelled up factory one..
Cheap bar-end mirrors that I made to fit using my milling machine. Good view/super clear now..No longer a member of the Mickey Mouse Club.. :grin:
Gold Wing  clone ft pegs
Filled the front master cylinder to the correct level, so it no longer pukes fluid.. Funny how that works..

Heated grips on the way, and a e-bay racer tank with pads from AF1  I am going to store away the factory white tank for now.. These will be tough to find down the road, Although I could paint another one the same..(just not into painting things at this point)
It runs perfect, and needs zero mapping. although hooking up Guzzidiag is quick, and painless) Getting around 60 mpg up here in  the High Dessert Country in Oregon. Mid-grade gas works better then the higher spec no alky stuff . The sound of the Arrow high pipe is pleasing. Just right like the rest of the machine.(now)I have a bit over 1000 miles, and expect things are going to get better when things get worn in a bit.. Sweetheart now though.. :cool:

As my last new bike it was disheartening to learn: 'what noise. they all do that'. The gear noise is terrible, even with good ear plugs, The bike feels much heavier than 410, 430'. And it is! ~485. I bought the wee bitch anyway. All my friends ride Guzzis. The bikes are fun w/only good folks to be with.

Oddly enough? I'm fanatical regarding a possible breakdown. I like bikes that handle well, stop well and look good. Get you there and back, on time, with clean hands and clothing. Thanks to Jim Hamlin. He made a raft full of changes to make me grin: Legnano bars, all steel fuel pump, NGK spark plug connectors, swopped wire wheels for cast AND no tubes, added K-Tec front end. Jim had the seat cover changed to dk brown w/red stitching, added a tail rack and delivered it to our rally site. SURPRISE!!!  WOW! That's a dealer.

I rode it in rain for two days. So far so good,- 'til it wasn't. It's a'17 racer, Lower case 'cause I can't stand posers or matte finishes. I chose the changes over a few years hoping for more power, better handling and stoppage. I had the cast wheels powder coated. Added frt. fender extender from UK. and molded it in. Stripped the bike of all the "tin ware", added a Marlin instrument shield of fibre glass, so it could hold paint.

The bike is a very dark brown with gold dust. Front fender has a 25mm wide red line almost end to end. Side panels have a red checker board like some sport models and white stripe. The racer emblems were added.  I think it's a good looking bike. ~7700 miles. "Weigh" too heavy for me.

For the Stornello TT: Goodness where do I start......

1. Suspension: 420 MM Hagon Rear Enduro/Trail Shocks 7.5 LB KTECH fork springs. Better ride quality, increase in ride height (1.5" unladen, 3/4" seated) for off road riding.
2. Electrical: AUX LED driving lights, tail light, and USB Power port to the GPS Power lead, swapped out head and tail lights for LED. LED's to save power, and USB/GPS power.
3. Electrical Accessories: MGMP Module for Smart Phone App, Oxford Heated grips,TPMS. Data from the MGMP is useful but not necessary, heated grips ARE ;-)
4. Tuning/Engine: Beetle Map, replaced Plug ends, valves set at .10 & .15mm, Mistral Exhaust. Beetle Map is a must, the plug ends are a recommended prevention, tighter valve clearances work with the BM, and the Mistral Exhaust sounds even better than the Arrow, but is almost 2" closer to the frame allowing the custom HB rack.
5. Chassis: Modified Norge Windscreen adapted to Dart brackets, Stelvio Hand Guards, 1.5" mirror extension brackets, raised front fender by mounting on topside of fork brace/fender mount, Hepco Becker Triple bags with custom exhaust side bracket. Love the variety of bags available to the HB rack.





 Hepco becker Center Stand and Engine Case Guards, 1" SW Motech Bar Risers, Goldwing Pegs, custom seat by KOF. All these modifications were for function, better weather protection, carry capability of luggage, better fit for my body, and
6. Tires/Brakes: Shinko 705 in stock sizes, Front HH sintered brake pads. The HH pads have better bite and response for the single disk. Not impressed with the 705's. Had good press, but street performance lacks.
7. Cosmetic: Custom Painted Yellow Tank (added, did not paint the stock tank) and painted side covers with Medallions.

I may have missed a few things, but my goal was to create a V85 TT alternative. So far, I am very pleased with the outcome. The Stornello TT is an all road touring machine. I have over 7K on the build. Adequate on the highway, comfortable for 8+ hours a day, 45mpg, a total blast to ride, and if/when the pavement ends, the fun does not stop.

I added the tank pads to tone it down a bit.I have different tank decals coming but will have to see in that.. Stored my white tank away to keep it mint..

Addenda:I forgot to add the best of all.

As new the abs did not. A hard stop was, potentially suicidal. I bled the brakes many times, often overnight under pressure. I could ride it 5 -7 miles and the lever would pull to the hand grip. Several computer controlled bleedings (a la factory), were no better. Jim Hamlin offered a frt. brake system designed in house w/one of his Tech's. It's a 4 pot, radial Brembo caliper + radial master cylinder w/ a swing lever and remote reservoir. It's almost an exact copy of the system on my RS125 Racer. (that bike weighs less than 300#). I believe the yclept MG Euro racers have a very similar arrangement. What a difference! I could float the rear wheel. AND, within a week or so the abs began working. It's wonderful. Ill never have less.
I wonder how much the abs system weighs?   R3~

I took a few pics in natural light outside.. Running the standard Royster bag setup. It works well for grabbing some things at the Market.
I did get about 5.5 gals into it. any more, and it will start puking gas out the top hose on the tank. No clamp on it...

After selling my beloved 2013 V7 due to an injury, and after resolving it with hip replacement surgery, I simply couldn’t do without another V7. So I upgraded. Here’s my 2020 V7III Stone S with the following updates…

- Bitubo fork cartridge kit/rear shocks (setup by Dave Moss Tuning)
- Agostini Sport drop bars/rear passenger pegs/Super Short exhaust slip-ons
- Sprint dry air filter
- GTM SAS delete/ECU flash tune
- EVAP canister delete
- Factory Guzzi V9 rear-sets w/Rizoma pegs (modified to fit V7III)
- BAAK short aluminum front fender
- K-town rear LED/fender delete
- Gecko front LED micro blinkers
- CRG Hindsight bar-end mirror
- Rizoma bar end
- ProGrip 780 grips
- ProGrip 480 lever covers
- Factory seat from V7III Carbon Shine
- Aluminum “Moto Guzzi” tank badge
- ShiftTech carbon license plate frame

I may be missing something, but I believe she’s fully updated with the all the mods I planned originally. I also realized that I dislike the OEM Dunlops, so

I’ve decided on Continental Road Attack 3s for my next set. Ciao…🇮🇹❤️

1. after-market mufflers, so it sounds like a Guzzi
2. fabricated a rack with a back pad, for the wife.
3. mounted pelican cases, for the convivence.
4. cut both levers down to two finger units, cause that's what I like.
5. jammed a marble into the SAS air supply line, for no snap crackle and pop on deceleration.
6. mounted a new clutch cable.
7. replacing rear tire (again) average 4K on rear...
Nothing much better than a Tannat from the Salta region.

On V7 III


1. Rear shock absorbers, for more comfort.
2. Exhausts, for sound and no catalysts.
3. Mapping, for better behavior.
4. Center stand, for safe parking, for inspection and maintenance.
5. Engine Guard, to minimize drops.
6. Rigid bags, little rear rack, practical.
7. Windshield, for more comfort
8. Mirrors, for the look.
9. Tank pads, for handle.
10. Horn, for louder.
11. Longer fender, to reduce projections
12. Conti Road Attack 3, because they are Radial

So, there is now nothing on the bike that distinguishes it as a Stone S. Even the engine cooling fins look black in the photo instead of polished. What are you going to do with all the take off parts?
