I can't quite get the timing to advance enough for smooth idling.....do I need to remove the distributor and advance it one tooth, so it will be able to advance more? If so which direction ??
Thanks

Are you using the marks on the front pully and a timing light?

If you have 4 marks on pulley, it's the one all the way to the right @ 3600rpm or there abouts for timing the LH cyl. Turn dizzy either way & watch marks. If you need to go more in one direction, the rotor shaft needs to go 1 tooth in the opposite direction when you put it back in.
For me to see marks line up, I look on an angle in between the forks. You can't see it strait on cause belt is in the way.

Before pulling the distributor, Make sure the TDC mark on the pulley is correct when the LH piston is at TDC on a compression strike. The pulley may not be installed correctly.
