Ok then.I've never used one (never will), but how much force does it take to overcome the friction lock and how is that adjusted ?

The work very well. Set it, then you can make adjustments to throttle position without disengaging it. Wrap you little finger around it as you roll out of the throttle to disengage.That plastic lever type (non-screw) that goes on the grip and wrests against the brake lever looks cumbersome at best, and crash causing (because your attention is diverted while you screw with it to get it to do what you want).
