Chirping and Timing Chain Noise

I have a slight chirping noise on startup when engine is cold only hear it when I blip the throttle.  After sitting all winter this happened last year and I had forgotten all about it.  This year same thing.  I crank the engine over for awhile as fresh gas makes its way to injectors, oil light goes out until it eventually fires.  I will let it run for a bit until I blip the throttle sounds like chirping is coming from the front of engine. 

Also noticed excessive chain noise.  Something I suspect is I will need to look at tensioner but is there a possibility that cam bearing is a little worn, hence the chirping?

I have not noticed any metal chips in the oil pan after last oil change.

Alternator bearing perhaps? Or maybe just old or loose  belt.

Which belt?

Crank mounted Alternator, no belts. Chirping could be vibration induced. Something up front on the frame or engine could be making the noise. Poke around while it does it and see if it stops making the noise as you put pressure on stuff bolted on around that area.

Where is the crank breather on that bike?  Could be the breather valve?

Check exhaust flanges, loose pipes squeak. Just an idea.

No change when clutch pulled in or out so I can rule out disc. 

Just odd that it only happens when below 40 degs F.

All the stock cam chain tensioner does is keep the chain from hitting the crankcase.  It has no pressure with the spring made out of a bent paper clip.  Replace it with a Valtek.
