I've always liked the dated classic styling of the 70s and 80s Italian sporty bikes. I like the looks of this one, too. I'd throw away the number plate and have a modern AeroLario..

The Le Mans 1 is the holy grail.
Trying to recreate the looks on a lame V7 is really sad.

Since years the Guzzi community asks for a naked bike/cafe racer/roadster with more performance than a V7.
For me this pure incompetence.

And in 2017 they have even killed the Griso ... :thewife:

Funny. I owned a LeMans, loved it.

If this had a V9, I'd probably think about buying it. My also ex-LM owning friend will buy it as is.

The big block days are gone, guys. I have always preferred them but they aren't making new big block sport bikes again.

yes to all of the above.......where the frick  are the big blocks

The big block is on its death bed. It will soldier on for a few more years in the Cali being de-tuned and hampered by ever stricter emissions regs, (Which I have absolutely no problem with.) and then will be put to sleep.

Right at the moment it seems that Piaggio has decided that Guzzi should become their 'Clown Car' brand. 'Cruisers' that aren't going to sell to Harley wannabees, Smallblocks that are designed to look like toy versions of forty year old motorbikes and now a machine that looks like an 'Adventure' bike but isn't crammed full of stone age engineering they hope to make bearable with electronic enhancement.

Time to stick a broom through the whole place and come up with something new and innovative that hasn't been styled by a clueless spiv in hush puppies.

They must not let the Aprilia engineers anywhere near the Moto Guzzi  design studio. It's a shame.

Jeez, it's not as bad as all that is it ?
I've got a Mk 2 that feels like an underpowered, underbraked, undersuspended, overrated 80's relic compared to my Norge.
This thing mightn't be too bad.
I think this Mk 1 Mk2 thing might be a bit of conventional wisdom..

The V7III Stone and original Lemans have similar 1/4 mile times but the V7III is down on top speed.  Look, I'd love to have a big block with retro styling but time has marched on and while the smallblocks may be down on power they're also 60-70lbs lighter.

If the V85 engine was in this bike it would stomp all over the original.  We often look back with rose tinted glasses.

To me...it's like there's one model with 27 different accessory packages.  (not that there's anything wrong with that)
Between those and the very basic looking V85, the weird design guys down the hallway haven't had much to do lately.

Remember these wild designs?? Not that they would ever get out of the prototype stage, but....
