Ive gone nuts! NGC. Two more bikes Im looking at
« on: December 18, 2020, 05:54:30 AM »
I am pushing through/past my feelings of being done with bikes!  I like these bikes.  Just do, so dont rain on my parade too hard.  I have a 1971 Honda CB750 chopper and thinking about adding a 1972.  That helps my old school inventory and as far as new school, the Honda Fury in 2010 model year maybe.  If I can get them to agree to my dollar amount you never know.  Man I think I have lost it.  LOL.  Merry Christmas to everybody out there.   :bike-037:

Hm-so you are not done with bikes after all.

Glad to hear it! I'm not a chopper guy but I do think they are "cool".

I didn't even realize that is a Honda Fury.  Looks much better than the blacked out ones I have seen lately.  Test riding a Honda Fury is on my list when I find a dealer with a used one.  I'm not going to test ride a private seller's bike to satisfy a curiosity.

If the Silver Honda runs even half as good as it looks, open your wallet a bit wider.  The picture was a bit fuzzy but that Honda appears to be an eye-worthy combination of art and craftsmanship. Try not to let it get away.

Edit:

I just looked up the Honda Fury and never realized Honda produced such a motorcycle.  As I've said many times before, Honda can build anything they want to from "impossible" engines to market-winning vehicles.  I think you would be nuts to let that Fury get away.  But it's not my wallet.

The Fury is great looking. A lot of nice attention to detail.  They came in a bit late to the game... but it’s a beautiful bike, with Honda reliability, and at a cost of 1/2 of the competition when new.

I think Honda brought the Fury to market at least 5 years too late. The custom chopper craze was already on its downturn, by that time. Yamaha was a bit more timely with its Raider, and the smaller version. That being said, I have always liked the Fury, as it looks cleaner, and more like a "custom" pro -street looking bike. I bet they are selling for a song on the used market. Your 71 chopper rocks! It looks real roadworthy, and legit enough to be featured in The Horse!

The Honda Fury is/was by far the best looking of the Japanese choppers.  As was said, too late to the market to make any impression.  I have no idea how they ride or handle.  I've never been a fan of the raked-out look, but for a local "bar hopper" it's probably pretty nice.

Myself for some strange reason, have always lusted for a Rune.
Rick.

I came across a new leftover Rune at a dealer in El Paso, TX many years ago.  They made me an offer that I shouldn't have refused, but I did.  I would have made a hefty profit based on what they are selling for today.

Nice choices, the Fury is a real clean design, I give Honda credit for building it! Old school Honda choppers are very cool, I could see myself building one someday but maybe a Benelli 500 four instead as the power plant.

That Fury is a nice looking bike.  Anyone with an eye to a chopper, that's one that'll start and go.  I thinks it's a 1300 and will get down the road and has suspension and brakes.

It's funny that when Honda came out with that bike, all the "custom" chopper market started to fade.  Those guys moved to baggers, trackers, cafe, restomods.

Congrats!

I go through the same feelings every now and then.  And then, a few days ago, something as simple as taking the old R100GS out to mix up some Stabil with a fill-up of 93 octane for winter storage makes me think how wonderful it is to roll along on two wheels.  It wasn't a beautiful day temperature-wise, the sky was overcast, but for some reason, it all came together.  Only a 15-20 mile ride before bringing the old Beemer home for a 3-4 month sleep, but it was all good.

For sure, I won't rain on your parade!  Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!

Bob

Plenty of Furys out there for sale.  i've been looking that them for a while now.  I just need to find one at a dealer so I can take it for a test ride and see if it is something I want to save up for.

Over the years I have found that the more beautiful I think a bike is, the less enjoyable it is too ride.  Supersports and choppers are great in photos on the wall.

I did ride the Yamaha Raider back in '12 and was amazed that it is a very well balanced motorcycle, but it does have a few harsh things about its look.
