Naa, too heavy. It's just an observation ship..Gotta keep it as light as possible, ya know.
What’s the maximum cockpit weight with full fuel Chuck ?
Gross weight includes a 275 pilot and 30 lbs. of fuel.
That’s pretty decent for such a lightweight.
How is that turn from the taxiway to the takeoff run achieved? Is the rear wheel steerable? Do you brake one of the front wheels?
Yeah, as you can see from the takeoff run, Bullet (as in slower than a speeding) has weight carrying ability to spare.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh8meAdzIGs
“You think you’re the coolest dude at bike night, and then this guy shows up….!”Sounds awesome!! Leather helmet and googles? WW2 insignia? Do you yell ‘CLEAR’!…….Found some internet inspiration….
You picked the correct motor, much better sounding than any twin for it's purpose.
This is my 7th and most likely last airplane project.. but it's been a good run.
Yeah, that is a lot of the fun with this thing. I have enough VW stuff laying around that I could have built a half VW for practically free. (Guzzi content) I was out in SoCal hanging out with Mark at MG Classics talking about it and how expensive the little radial was. He said, "You planning on putting that money in your casket with you? You going to be eating beenie weenies for a couple of years if you get it?" "Good point, Mark.." It has a lot of character, and easily pulls a big prop. What's not to like?
I can't really add praise here. So I'll ask a question that weighs on me. Given that motor, and except for the instruments, is there anything else in your plane that could not have been built in the 1920's? It is amazing.Moto
I looked at the price, if it continuously performs, worth the price. Makes the plane. Hey, you can use it in another plane.
And really nothing sounds as good as a radial!!
I admire the work and dedication it took to build it to completion . It turned out quite well, didn’t it?
