Dusty, my friend Phil Schreck from Tulsa will be there, staying with me in the Cedar Creek Lodge. Please add his name to the list, thanks! I suggested to him that he order a t-shirt and buy a raffle ticket. He has V7III Racer that I assume he'll ride to the rally. Oh, Dusty, Phil paid last year!

Great to see Phil.

I've got ya covered, Sir Sultan.   :boozing:

Thanks , that new trunk will be put to good use .

We might break 50 attendees , still down from 2017 and '18 , but I am tickled pink we are rebuilding the rally .

For those of you who are new to our little soiree in Cedar Vale , despite the tongue in cheek name , this is really just an unpretentious rally put on by unpretentious people . It has jokingly been called the Cedar Vale Knot-a-national-knot-a-rally , the not-really-a-rally-, and some other names I have forgotten .

However , we do a couple of things that are somewhat unique , things even the larger rallies either don't do , or not in the same way we do . We raise a little money for our host village , probably nearing $10,000 since we started being a real event in 2014 , something we are proud of . This year we are focused a little more on the no-kill animal shelter in Newton , but even then we will likely put another good chunk into the pavilion fund . So while we are having fun we are also doing some good .

Oh , if you haven't ever had my hush puppies , well , ask past attendees  :food:

The check's in the mail, Dusty.  We talked with Rocky and have lodging for Thursday just in case.  I'll try to let you know about supper once I have a better idea, but best not to count on us.  We can always scrounge around if we do happen to roll in.  Thanks again for everything!

Dusty.   I forgot to mention.

Since the last rally I’ve become a Level VII, blackbelt, super-atomic Vegan.

What foods do you offer that meet my exquisitely rarified palate?

For example, are your hush puppies no cage, free range, items?

You brought up something I have been working on . If anyone has a problem with gluten the hush puppies can be made sans gluten , and we can do vegetarian beans and of course potatoes . Then if anyone is on a low sodium diet , the fish batter can be made W/O salt , just bring me some garlic powder . I have become more aware of the dietary needs of some of us as we age .

While we can certainly meet your dietary needs Presscot , we still won't have a barrista on hand for your double foam halfcaff soy latte , and the aroma therapist has moved to San Francisco .

Red beans and rice is a traditional veggie cookout dish that seems to go with a fish fry.

It's something I know nothing about, other than it contains red beans and rice.

I’m reconsidering whether I can attend.  I can find workarounds on the latte, but the lack of a local aroma therapist is a severe blow.

Faith called yesterday morning , the town is having a cruise night on Friday evening , not sure how this is going to work , cruising downtown Cedar Vale will take what , 15 seconds

Seriously , we have helped start a small rejuvenation in Cedar Vale , the museum is being remodeled , the small senior citizen center is getting some attention . Other groups are staging events in town , something that wasn't happening before we began focusing some attention on the little village .

Did we mention there will be pie ? :food:

Dusty:

Does this downtown cruise involve pillaging?

In my other cruiser clubs we always pillage, but maybe your Cedar Vale event is more subdued.

Look , we promised Faith to be on our best behavior , so keep the pillaging to a minimum please .

Actually I suggested a longer route than just downtown , at least down thru the park

Alright , spoke with Faith , turns out we can obtain 3 levels of permits that allow pillaging . Level 1 is $200.00 and allows for things like moving the picnic tables in the park around and flirting with the local ladies . Level 2 permit is $400.00 and allows for some senseless engine revving and general lightweight old guy hooliganism . The level 3 permit is only available as "price to be determined" , so didn't really ask what level 3 allows .

Once again I remind you all if you get too far out of line and duct taping to a tree or dunking in the sewage lagoon doesn't cool one down there is the last resort, the four season comfort Cedar Vale jail.
