Hello All,  Just rejoined the forum after many years away.  Had a couple of Moto Guzzis in the past - a V11 Sport and a California Vintage.  Riding BMWs now - a R9T and a R18 - but thinking about adding a V85 TT Travel as a mid-weight adventure/touring bike.  Will be trying to catch up on all the information and will hopefully add to the discussions in the future.

Hi from GA USA. I've been riding since 97. I'm 65 now and retired for awhile now. sold my last bike which was  a bmw s1000xr. I've had a lot of various italian bikes over the years. and have been looking at the V7 for some years now. The 26 V7 sport seems to have added quite a bit to the model.

I admit I'm torn as the 24-25 V7s are available for  a good price, but really like the specs of the 26 sport.

I'm looking for just a tooling around type of ride, no more touring.

Honestly for the savings on a leftover you can get a lot better front and rear suspension made for you, bag mounts, center stand, brake pads etc.

Hello everybody!

My name is Krunoslav, I am 54 y.o. motorcycle enthusiast from Croatia (Europe) and have a 1989 Moto Guzzi Mille GT (beside two other bikes).
I bought that bike two years ago with approx. 25000 kilometers (15500 miles), in visually good condition, but (as it seems) with no maintenance ever, except for the basic service.

1.  Welcome to the group.  Lots of good information here.  Do a search under "Mille GT" to get to a fair number of posts specifically relating to that model.
2.  I had a 1990 red Mille GT until a few years ago, when I sold it to get a 1973 Eldorado that was more comfortable for my aging body.  You can find nearly 100% of any needed parts for the Mille fairly easily.  Unless things have changed since I had mine, the ONLY totally unobtainable new or NOS parts I know of are the disc rotors for the brakes on the alloy wheels.  Rotors for the wire wheels were/are easy to find, but not for the alloy wheels.

I'm located down in columbus. I've watched some vids so I'm pretty confident I can do the service myself, main issue is dealer support. Tho we do have a shop called southern vintage which works on older guzzis, so in a pinch believe they could help me.

Yes, that's a stretch to dealers, most can be done by you. If you want to see what it's doing or need to look at it, read the GuzziDiag thread. You could also get a box that plugs in from Guzzi Tech w/map download. Ride Safe

For 73 years not a lot to tell actually :-). Been riding for 57 of those years but this year is the first I have ridden a Guzzi.  Exactly 50 feet from the trailer to the garage.  My '68 V70 (Special ?) is now gradually being dismantled. There will, no doubt, be plenty of questions and plenty of searching for new(er) parts.

A close friend in OR has several, and many over the years, so I've been keen to get one for a while.  Cheers!

Hello everyone,

Chris
50
New Braunfels, Texas

Riding for 30 plus years, started looking for a Guzzi a couple of years ago and was set on a V11 Lemans to complement my Ducati 900ss CR. Missed out on a few and never considered a Stelvio 1200, never a fan of the adventure bike until taking a 1500 mile trip through Washington State on a Yamaha Super Tenere, then I understood what those bikes are about. Just purchased a low mile 2015 Stelvio 1200 NTX and love it. Appreciate all the valuable information from everyone found here on Wild Guzzi!

Hi, I'm Gwil, a Welshman living in Portugal. Ex Social Services manager turned yacht rigger/surveyor when the politics got too much!

In the 80s I had several T3s, and later a V11 Sport. I've just sold a Harley XR1200, much loved and modified, and ultimately too much of a hot rod for this old fella. I've just bought a 2002 California Stone. Nice condition, motor feels very healthy, bit of a whine from the box. I'm about to change all the fluids.

So nice to be back on a Guzzi.

No worries, the whine is from straight cut gears in the gearbox. You will get used to it. Welcome.

Hey Gang! Jim Sofchek here, 68yo and retired. I'm into motorcycling, mechanics, fly-fishing, shooting sports. About to be a new owner of a 1974 Eldorado Police bike :police:. I currently ride a 2002 BMW K1200RS. I'm here to pick everyone's brain once I get my Eldorado, since it will be my first Guzzi ever, I'm excited for it.

Good day to you all.
I'm Ady and from Olde England.
I'd been looking for a bike to replace my NTV project that I had fallen out of love with, that was lanquishing in the 'man cave'.I made the decision to sell the Honda at a loss and move on.
So I started with a list of attributes for the new bike.
preferably air/oil cooled
simple enough for the home mechanic to fettle with
'naked' or atleast minimal amount of plastic
the list was whittled down to
bmw rockster
ducati monster
yamaha bulldog
And then I asked for AI assistance and it suggested Moto Guzzi

And I discovered the Griso and the decision was finalised.

I found a low mileage 1100 clean example and was committed.

So far its been a roller coaster of ownership but I think now I can finally move forward to just regular maintainance.
The journey has so far been lots and lots of mapping with some valuable insight from Mark of Beetle maps fame.
And now I have her starting and running to a acceptable level I can start to ignore the Italian motorcycle jibes from my UJM riding friends

Which is a lot of waffle to say HELLO !!

TY, It's the bike that I had never heard of before as Guzzi's were never on my radar, but quite surprisingly it scored very highly on my wish list, including single sided swing and double front discs.

Hello Everyone,

I'm Mark, 31, most definitely not retired, Richmond Va , I ride a 2022 Moto Guzzi V85tt, first Guzzi, I'm hooked and wanting another. But my wife keeps talking some sense into me, she's really good at doing that.

I take it easy and drink too much caffeine.

Hi there.

I'm Ivan, I'm a 41 year old farmer from Kilkenny, Ireland. I'm into Brazilian Jiujitsu and biking and anything outdoorsy.

Always had a bike as my main mode of transport up until I had my first child 12 years ago. Had to sell my beloved 99 Honda VFR 800.

Anyway I'm not at the stage where I could finally get back on a bike.... house built etc. etc. I always had a thing for Moto Guzzis ever since a guy in college had one and I saw it up close and thought it was lovely.

A 2007 Breva 1100 came up within my (rather small) budget. It came with side panniers, which was a big draw for me to this bike. I love the practicality and the fact that it looks good with the boxes on, but they can be taken off easily too and you're not left with big ugly brackets.

I hope to throw a small tent on the back and head off for a few overnighters or weekend trips next summer, so have plenty of time to get to grips with the bike after such a long time off.

So far so good, apart from the fact that she seems to run very hot and I don't think there is an engine temperature read out to keep an eye on things. Fro what I have read they do run hot, but it seems to me a bit too hot even after short spins.

I am going to change the oil and filter first to make sure it has that much right before I go do anything more drastic and expensive, but I can see myself needing the help of some more experienced views in relation to fuel mapping etc.

Happy to be part of the group

Hello everyone from the New Jersey Skylands (NW of New York City).

Long time rider, 1st time Guzzi owner.  Had a thing for the V11 Sport for the longest time and finally found the right one a few months ago - a red 2004 Cafe.

Slowly learning my way on and with the bike.  Have already broken the speedo cable (replacement on the workbench).

Thanks for having me here and looking forward to hopefully meeting and riding with others.   :bike-037:

Hello All. I'm Craig Secosan, in Hendersonville, NC. I like oddball bikes (Yamaha Niken, RZ500, 2 Norton rotaries, Suzuki rotary, Motus MST-R, BMW R90S), and recently acquired a M-G Australia. I previously owned a '94 Daytona 1000 and foolishly sold it. The Australia has velocity stacks without filters, so I'm looking for adaptors to mount pod filters onto the throttle bodies. Any thoughts? Looking forward to being part of the community.

Greetings fellow riders,

I purchased my first ever Motorcycle - The 2013 V7 Stone Trim used with only 6.7Kms in her.

Orginally I was supposed to go cruisers like KW Vulcan but once I sat on a V7 in a dealership I immediately fell in love and coudn't stop thinking about the model and it's the only model i like now. Just recently did 1000Kms since I first got her and despite her issues she's the best thing I've ever bought!

FYI, in case you don't know that year needs the heads re-torqued and a full service at 600 miles. The rear end needs 5.4 ounces max in it or it will leak. All well documented here if you search long enough.
