But there's a good amount of rash on the valve cover and it's left a very small hole in one spot. We thought we'd try to mend it while we keep an eye out for a replacement. Would you all use JB Weld? Epoxy Putty? Something else? Any suggestions greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance for your patience with our questions.
If I were to make a temporary patch, my preference would be to put it on the outside, so if it fell off it wouldn't get into the engine. But I think I'd weld the hole closed. If you can't weld it yourself, it should be an inexpensive job at a shop if you clean it well before you take it there.
