I most certainly did!

Return 300 mile trip. When I arrived in Golden Bay I found that the rear tire tread had disappeared. I tried all the tire centers in the nearest (small) city, 70 miles away and drew a blank. The local motorcycle shop tried for me and located one, a Metzeler MeZ-2. It is a steel belted radial but not too badly priced; seems like they are OEM for some Triumphs. The shop of course had to remove the wheel as mine does not have a centre stand. The mechanic however had worked on Guzzis for 12 years but paying someone to take it out hurts. (More Guzzi content )

I am very pleased with the way the tire feels, more planted than the Sport Demon. Will be interested to see how it wears.

The trip home was like the trip up, some bits you could at least do the speed limit but other times the triffids made their presence felt. The fuel light came on at 180 miles, which means the Breva has a range of about 260 miles . She ran perfectly for the whole trip, and I had a great week away.

I rode again today. Had too. Cool but dry. Forecast for the week is rain with snow mixed. Besides I'm going to go to work this week.

Rode the Griso, I had the only bike there.

Got lost for 30 minutes in the Lincolnshire Wolds

Should set me up for the work week ahead

ANZAC day, public holiday here. It's raining and pretty drac but I think I'll take a ride around a loop of villages and have a look at the war memorials. Seems fitting.

Wife and I rode the three twisted sisters in the Texas hill country. We are staying in Fredericksburg and did a 275 mile loop of sorts.  Got our lean on for a few dozen hundred times.  it was a great day. Rode 16 from Fredericksburg to Medina, then 337 to Camp Wood, up 55 to Barksdale, and on 335 to highway 41. East over to 336, then down to Leakey. Back up 83 to 39 and into Kerrville. Then 16 back to the hotel.

Same here but the weather was great.

Did the annual Saint Johns ANZAC day ride to Little River, about a 100 mile round trip. It is put on by the Christchurch Ulysses club who get donated bike goods to raffle, supply all the food and ALL money raised goes to one of the local St Johns. Always a good day out, catch up with guys you already know and meet some new ones.

I did ... the old college inaugurated a new president today (that's 25 in 250 years), so I decided to put on the tasseled loafers, the khaki pants, the oxford shirt, the garnet-and-gray school tie, and folded a blue jacket into the top box, and hit the road.   Changed out of the armored mesh into the sportcoat at the "do" and suddenly I was "in style" again, partying like it was 1974.   

Outdoor under the huge oak trees with the breeze blowing,some good speeches, some good singing by the school chorus, nice trooping of the colors by the ROTC, and then an outdoor reception with an unbelievable amount and quality of food.  Talked to old profs that taught ME 45 years ago ... then zoomed the back roads home.

When I ride, I'm 18 again, every time ....

You need to at least stop at the Elbow Bar on the way home. If the Roaring Rubidoux don't rise too high. It's a funky little joint on Rt66 @ Devil's Elbow. Still got my digits right?

I took the G out for a flog and tried to get the new Ti pipes to colour up like the Ghetto bad boyz! No such luck, whether it is me being a softcock or simply the fact the air was bloody cold they're only getting jiggy down about a foot from the port!

You need to at least stop at the Elbow Bar on the way home. If the Roaring Rubidoux don't rise too high. It's a funky little joint on Rt66 @ Devil's Elbow. Still got my digits right?

If they are Titanium I don't think it blues does it? Seem to remember that it goes a slight brown after a while.

You will just have to flog it harder.

Rode about 100 miles to a ride to eat.    We got several inches of heavy rain, lightning, and high winds. I felt really tough about making it to the meet until I got there and a guy from Wichita rode in on his 1989 FJ1300 with his 15 year old daughter on back.     She came voluntarily and put others that weennied out to shame.  On the ride back home I had to keep telling myself to man up and quit whining!

Nice ride this morning.  Started out about 6:30am, 48* and by 9:30 it was 80*.  Beautiful day, unreal colors.

St.Louis toTulsa via Cabool, MO....I-44 closed from Rolla to Lebanon, MO...major high water and flood damage along the way...water still rising in many places...the Norge shrugged it all off as usual and ran like a champ all the way...top speed logged 102 mph....loved having my heated vest...see you in Cedar Vale!

Today was the perfect day to ride out here around Raleigh, NC. I did feel the need for speed and torque as I got up this morning, so my MG's rested in the stable, while my souped up 96 GSXR burned the country roads around my home up! :)

I love my MG's, and they have all of the speed and torque that I will ever need for around here, but I am still a little stunned to see the differences in performance and handling when I compare my 96 GSXR 1100 with my 96 & 97 MG 1100 Sport bikes.

I woke up very early, made coffee and watched the sunrise. Beautiful !



It's supposed to rain all day but I wanted to go up the mountain and check out a living history museum I want to bring my sisters to while they are here for my wife's funeral.

So at 7:30, off I went. Today is a holiday and the streets are nearly empty. . Temps are cool, but not cold. Bike is running great and I'm feeling fine.

Did what I wanted to do,,, wasted some more time and gas wandering,, then came home. Just finished breakfast, drinking a coffee, and its only 9:30 am.😀

Yup.  Took my standard waste of time ride 30 miles for no-ethanol premium to Burnsville, then decided to take the backroads home over the pass just northwest of Mt Mitchell on Rt 197 to get home on time.  If you ever get a chance to ride Rt 197 south of Burnsville, don't pass it up.  The first switchback isn't marked and the speed limit is 55, but you're heading over a high ridge so buyer beware.  Unfortunately, the road ran out of asphalt after I crested the ridge and I didn't have the spirit to try the downhill on dirt.  So I U-turned, enjoyed the ride back to Burnsville, was wicked late, but with a lot of smiles.   Mt. Mitchell and others had a frost cap which looked real nice today.
