Cool , now if they could do something about drainage for the pavillion  Last year we had the beginnings of a nice aquarium .
Dusty
You are welcome Larry . Just to clear up something , I am simply the mouthpiece for this and Cedar Vale , it is the guys working behind the scenes that keep these things going
Dusty
Chuck , pertinent info in the heading . Yes , make it down , and bring the other Chuck along .
Dusty
I guess I will have to decide between riding one of my roads(Talimena Parkway) and attending Vintage Festival at Barber Motosports Park, both events are the same weekend.
Bob
We won't be nearly as crowded Bob .That is a big consideration, it was so crowed at Barber last year it was hard to move around.
Dusty

But I do like to look at all the old bikes and stuff folks are selling.

We will provide several old guys to look at , will that do ?

Dusty

Dusty
Never had it, is it any good.
No idea , but their ads are colorful . Dougie and I had a board meeting today , decided that we might camp over at Cedar Lake and just show up at dinner time
Dusty
Wouldn't be very hard to do if the roux was made ahead of time. We would need a big pot and a rice steamer. and some shrimp and some Andouille, and maybe some catfish, and some green pepper, onion & garlic, oh, and some okra, Cajun seasoning, maybe a couple of squirrels and some crawfish. Louisiana hot sauce and maybe a Buckwheat Zydeco CD! and some beer, that's all. :boozing:
To bad I can't fit my Jambalaya Pot on the back of Stelvio, it cooks enough to feed 60 hungry folks.;-)
Is it possible to make it in a square top like Doug makes soup in , and , the real question , will you make it ? What do you need ?
Dusty
Mrs. Fubar to the rescue!!! Now not only is she SWAMP IRISH,she also has abig-large stainlessGUMBO POT and she is driving to talahena(rescue vehicle for me)!She tells me she cant cook gumbo,so,because GUZZISTA didn't make a promised visit to Nebraska she thinks its only fair that John cooks the GUMBO.If were really nice to her she may well promote another batch of DREAM SICLE MOOONSHINE. Side note to MR.GUIZZISTA,Mrs. Fubar says you really screwed up because you also missed out on the chicken enchilada she made just for me---I meant you of course!!! Trust me that is something you don't want to miss. I can bring a frozen possum and a few turnips for the pot. How about the roux?
Actually John...who cares. I want to talk about how gravity workis!!!!! :Beating_A_Dead_Hors e_by_liviu
fubar with a rescue vehicle? :thumb:
OK , the T shirts are for sale in another thread , we need to start getting a head count so Delrod and I can begin planning . DustyCheck sent today for the T-shirt! Thanks!
Accuweather is predicting highs in the mid 70s , with abundant sunshine . Dusty
When are folks showing up at the Park?
My wife and I are planning to get there midday Saturday the 10th.
Accuweather is predicting highs in the mid 70s , with abundant sunshine .Man, the weatherman are amazing in Oklahoma if they can predict the weather a week out. Here in North Texas they are lucky to get it right 48 hours ahead of time.
Dusty

A number of years when I hosted the old It-lee gig we watched the 10 PM Sat weather Yep, the front is blowing out and it will be clear' Sun It was still pouring at 5 AM and didn't stop until 10.
Anyone that believes the w eatherman will believe me when I tell you I'm going to be on the front cover of Men's Health Mag.

would definitely not want that job at a campground.gets pretty envolved to say the least
they had some dam problems with the springs of the center stand. I suggested to put pennies between the spring coils to spread the sping out, he told me after the job that the pennies were to wide had to use small washers.rudyr
In hammock asleep 2AM. No stories, definitely no work. If past experiences hold true, probably raining buckets by then.

Managed to get a room at Rocking H in Talihina.
Yes, I'm a tent wimp. Prefer a real bed to go along with my aromatherapy and spa treatments, as opposed to sleeping on rocks. Go ahead, mock me--but my nails will be looking fabulous.
Really looking forward to this. As Dusty said before, this is some of the absolute best riding in the U.S. Roads are well maintained, traffic is usually moderate, views are spectacular.
Who talking about the rain now?
Dave

Yeah , sorry  We promise not to discuss the VW thing , global warming , guns , religion , politics , or bigfoot either :evil:At least not on the board, but perhaps around the campfire...well lubricated with some exotic beer of choice!

Actually , the bigfoot discussion that occurs at Cedar Vale every year is probably more contentious than any other topic
Dusty
Bigfoot is only 20 miles from the OK Campout in Honobia on the Indian Highway. They have the Bigfoot Festival this weekend. It's also a pretty good ride from the campsite to Honobia (Ho-NO-Bie)

Looks like I am actually going to make it, yea! Should get there late Friday afternoon. Six miles straight north of Talimena?
GliderJohn
Dusty. I'm in New York City. Help!
Plan to be there. Late, late Friday. Or sorta early Saturday.
Was supposed to be on the road now, but took a tumble off the back steps in the dark last evening; resulting in a sprained ankle, bruised knee and hip with skinned up elbow. Take pics and post, please!!
Well on the way home, after some rides in the twisties Darren and I got as far as Stigler. Stopped for breakfast and my rear tire was GONE. I mean huge chunks of rubber missing. Even some of the cord was shredded. (I thought the bike was handling poorly.) I tiptoed it at 30 mph until we got to I-40. I thought I might get my sister at her lake house but she was gone on vacation. I was about to look for a UHaul when Darren called his son to bring the trailer.
Darren and I watched Moto GP on his phone while we waited. We got home after 4 today.
Thanks Darren. Yes, I was stupid.
Well Johnny, @ least you didn't loose yer dipstick
JN was always riding at a safe and sensible 55 to 62 mph. I have a great deal of respect for the man, but never rode any significant distance with him, so this was interesting news to me.
So in honor of the man, on my trip back to Terrell I tried riding JN-style. Kept the Stone in 4th gear. Steady 60 mph. Studying the scenery.
Guys, I could only take it for about an hour, and then I reverted back to my wicked ways. Oh well, I tried.
Surely not  Had a close encounter with an impolite Camry driver just North of Whitefield OK on the way home . Riding my slightly normal elevated pace , Camry doing 50 MPH , pull out to pass , and the car driver decides it is a race . Thought maybe a mile or so at 85 MPH might shake him , no luck , finally found a safe spot to let the Camry pass , and then this guy slows back down to 50 MPH . I decided discretion was the better part of valor and pulled off in Porum to create some separation . Was kind of hoping to see the Camry stopped by a :copcar: up the road

Dusty...that would be Tim Powers from Austin and his cousin Dave (I think) from Wisconsin. I ran into them at the Gas station in Mena and pointed them your direction...glad they made it. Tim probably will show up at Harvest Classic in Luckenbach as well...

Aren't you behind Gary Scott in that one picture ?
Dusty
One thing that has been missing most years is an official greeter with a registry at hand so we can get everyone's info . Chris (Two Wings) has volunteered to perform this valuable function for this year's Okie :thumb: No exceptions , you WILL sign the registry
Now , anyone else want to be in charge of something ?
Dusty
Hmm , we were discussing what tasks you might be up for , we were thinking Friday morning breakfast :laugh:Everyone likes cheerios right?
Dusty
Sure , with eggs Benedicte and potatoes au gratinhash browns:food: Dusty
Will do.
Yeah.....Tracy said he to do a day ride straight to get to any interesting roads. The main reason for the HD barcolounger bike. Of course, riding on gravel at speed will get your attention.
The guy who started the Okie at its current location did the same thing , maybe still does . He has gone to the Dark Side so we never see him anymore
Dusty
Yep , KB is a character alright , when the OK CMA event was at Cedar Lake the weekend after the Guzzi deal he would just hang out in the Ouchitas after our deal , and then attend their deal . He did once follow a couple of us North over the San Bois Mtns pulling his Kwik Camp behind a Cal II , he said he was doing pretty good till we started touching 90 MPH in those long sweepers
Dusty
Do you promise not to turn anyone's ECU into pudding ? If so , then yes
Yo Paul , you didn't do a comedy routine at CV , we are expecting 15 minutes at the Okie .
Dusty
Ok...here ya go: I'll do a comedy routine at Okie if I can get Lucydad to make it to the GRIT rally...ba da boom!
15 minutes...let's see, that's about 50-60 jokes...I'm not sure I have that many in the repertoire. Maybe I can just channel Fluffy!!
Have we heard from David Welch yet ? Dave and Dottie ? Considering JN's propensity for showing up W/O warning , maybe a bit of "surprise" is appropriate
Dusty
Don't be surprised if I show up in my car. Might try something different this year. Want to check out the trails near the camp so I may bring the atv. As long as they don't mind me parking the trailer in the grass and setting up camp on the trailer. Least I won't have tent on ground.
How ever I get to Ok, will be a great time!
See ya
Rod
That's a good thing Chuck , since you are one of the "surprise" guests. Dusty
Also the home of the best dumpster diving ...
Dusty
46 days folks . We have a couple of surprise guests this year .
Dusty
Oh , I wonder what happens on Thursday  Dusty
Sad part is , pretty sure I was at the first one , and for sure the second one , just couldn't remember exactly when that was . Speaking of Mr Bunch , maybe Shorty will lure him down to hang out with us unsavory types . LOL
Dusty

Dusty
Now that's a nightmare...but to be fair, I never committed to the Okie this year, we always had an Asheville, North Carolina visit in mind to go to Overland Expo, but then Madame's work schedule became more concrete, so that was cancelled also...and that just leaves me a Sat/Sun to go pick up the Scura since all my future October weekends are spoken for at this point...
Trust me...I'd love to come and tell jokes, drink moonshine and otherwise enjoy the splendid company of my fellow Guzzisti...
Just to clarify "Pete's" John is a famous , long established Italian restaurant in Krebs OK . Best advice , don't eat for several hours before going :food:
Dusty
OK. Let's go with Friday lunch?
Who's with us?
Possible if I make it in time. What time?
Might have to meet you there.
The TURDASS (turnip users recipe discussion association) is having our monthly meeting Friday and Friday night is the Mensa meeting so it might be Sat before I get there.
Tex
I should be there sometime late this evening.
Weather tomorrow should be cool and dry, behind the front that's blowing through today.
Terry and I have arrived home just a few minutes ago. Was good to see everyone and meet some new friends. Looking forward to next year already. Thanks everyone
Anyone have update on Tom?
BTW, where were the T-shirts? I put in an order for one but forgot to ask about it.

Maybe next year Michael.

Latest Fubar update . He is in his usual good spirits , maybe the hydrocodone has something to do with that  We are making arrangements with the VA hospital here in Muskogee to get him fixed up and on his way back to West Chester Heights Nebraska . He wants to let everyone know how much their efforts are appreciated .
Just want to ad , the Talihina PD was contacted and have been a great help , an officer made a food run last night and helped with a couple of other issues , and returned this morning with a bag full of breakfast , Tom was impressed and grateful .
Dusty
That's really cool of the local popo to do! Great folks!
Oh , and about that mod of the year thing , well, we all know that isn't true .
We went to see him (mike Tim and I) and convinced him to take the donated $$ and go to the motel. He was feeling better after a OxyContin. The nurse told me he had a fractured FUBULA.
Just arrived home a few minutes ago -- 1780 miles in total. I overnighted in Poplar Bluff, MO in each direction. Had a great time. Kudos to those who planned and were involved in actually doing the NAR.
Ride safe out there. The road is full of crazies!

Acute Coors Deficiency.
Tom get better. The Monday after I got back from the JN camp out. I put my wife in the hospital, hope she gets out in a few more day's. Friday before JN camped out she told me she would be fine just go to your gray beard camp out. She's a real stand up wife(&she doesn't drink Coors). I just didn't know she was as sick as she was. I haven't been to an OK campout since the OK rallies in the mid '80s. that might be a good thing to do, I could hit the Italy, TX on the first Oct weekend. I miss riding eastern OK and the Winding Stair trail...... I have to find a disguise so Slicer don't notice me
"Big Foot Festival",
gotta love the South.
For a tenter, what's the temp. get down to in this here part of Oklahoma at night? Me and JN go way back.
Tex, I'll just crash on your couch, if I can find Linden that is.
Gonna be a helluva commute from the Oleo Ranch to the Talimena State Park everyday

We have the official seal of approval from the Texas Turnip , don't attend and he will come to your house with Slicer  :evil:I wondered what might motivate Tex to drop in. Kind hoped it would be with Beaver instead of Slicer however.

Hi Dave,
If still available, please put me down for Campsite 6 for arrival afternoon/early evening Friday thru Sunday morning...
Thanks!
Just finished a servuce on "Ol' Blue". Oil changed, drive line and front end greased, tires pumped up. Should be good to go!
I slacked and haven't called camp ground yet for a spot. Don't really need a full r/v spot. I'd be fine off behind the shower house. Maybe within 100 ft of power would be nice. Wasn't there a r/v trailer parked back there last year? I will try and call next week. But I gotna bad case of CRS. So......
I may be there late wed night. Being back on days I could leave right from work. Usually get back from run early afternoon. Will have to see how work that week goes.
Planning to go to Calvins Memorial deal too. Might need to ride shotgun with someone in a cage.
Well, I wiĺl see you all there!

Dave
Galveston
Probably won't make it. the Bigfoot symposium looks like fun.
Look forward to your photos.
Does anyone know if there are any camping spots left? I just left a message with the camp host.
I've got spot 3, next to Shorty in spot 2.
I took the last site. Plan to get there on Thursday. Prolly won't get my trailer repaired but should be OK for the weekend.
Ken Bunch told me he may do a fly through on Saturday on his old Shovelhead. Which means we may or may not see him....... Then he is off to some doings in Harrah, OK. I' m debating on which bike to bring. IF the off road trails are easy for an old man, I would like a go with the XT, BUT I ain't no Malcolm Smith.
Rod,
Big Blue?
Not bringing the short bus?
Are you planning on doing a meal. Pork chops at CV were spectacular. Even if you're not planning on cooking, bring your can cooker if you have room.
If you are still interested in fishing rod, bring your favorite reel, and we'll kick around some ideas.

The forecast is calling for very warm , scattered showers on Sat . Looking good :thumb:
Dusty
What's the fog forecast for the Scenic Byway? Last year with thick as soup - more dense than the fog on the Golden Gate bridge on arrival evening...weekend was beautiful though! Let's hope for more of the same clear weather!
Sorry...just got news that I cannot leave Friday as originally planned...so now it doesn't make sense for me to ride all the way up on Saturday and turn around and ride all the back on Sunday.
Will have to catch the next one fellas...Dave, feel free to give away the afore-mentioned reserved tent spot!
See you back down here in Houston/Galveston upon your return! Have fun guys!
I'll be headed there Thursday afternoon pulling my toy hauler.
If you need supplies, let me know, I can haul them in the trailer.
Tent site 6 is open again. Nice tent pad. Picnic table. Water and grill.
Let me know soon if you want it. Thurs is already paid for.

So THIS is the t-shirt design...I dunno...
David , the Okie is a good rally to meet fellow Guzzista , we always have a few Texans , and the rally is small enough to be intimate .
Looking forward to meeting you :thumb:
Dusty
It appears there isn't enough demand for T shirts to make them viable . Sorry to disappoint the five guys who wanted one .
Anyway , we do need to start getting a count , Davedel , what are they saying on FB ? Speak up folks, the Okie has a good tradition , help us add to that history .
Dusty
I'll be state side for part of Oct. and will try and make it....
:-)
I hope you're not planning to ride raw
I heard the Sultan is servicing his harem in Cedarvale, but there are other moderators.
Since "I'm just the mouthpiece" is in repose Rocker or Luap can do the honors.

any advanced fee required?we are watching the weather and hope to come.
Whoever gets there on Thursday be sure to do a spider sweep. Could have gone all day without that photo.

So who's bringing food? I'm taking the travel trailer and can bring something more the Grappa for the coffee.
Anyone coordinating?
Doug, Dave, Rod, and the sultan have it covered.
Dusty
really, I just bought three racks of ribs I was going to smoke.
What time should I be over? :food:
Come over to the trailer? Dunno. If the food isn't wanted, I won't bother with it.
[/quote
No one said it would not be appreciated :food:

No one in their right mind would turn down your famous ribs! Except maybe a hardcore and strong willed vegan.
Try to keep me out of 'em. I dare you.
Get between you and John's ribs? I don't think so.
really, I just bought three racks of ribs I was going to smoke.
3 of us arriving friday bringing cheese.
Sloe down there Sultan!
Low your ribs come highly recommend. Please bring them.
What night would you like to serve them?
Dave
Galveston
Dave, I brought ribs last year. They went fast.
I'll have three racks, I'll smoke them tomorrow and bring them in the fridge in my travel trailer. Just a matter of browning them up on one of the charcoal grills at the campsite (probably can go from start to cutting them up in 30 minutes). Totally flexible when to do it. Doug contacted me on PM and seems flexible as well.
I can also bring some side dishes, drinks, utensils and fixings, etc., etc.... if given an order. Otherwise, not.
There are restaurants in town and original local Italian in Krebs. Also Wilhelmina Castle.
Lots of choices, ...........
Thurs evening then. I've got some slow cooker beans that will go good with ribs and I'll bring some sausages to suppliment.
Could you handle making some potato salad?
Plates and plastic forks and spoons? I'll bring some also.
I've got Fri covered.
Thanks
Dave
Unless someone has a really cheap source for potato salad and plastic ware we can source those items locally. Wouldn't worry too much.
Dusty
Dusty is in charge of utensils, plates, tater salad and slaw.
Thanks,

Well, I went to Yoder meats in wichita to see about the turkey breasts, lady brought out a huge 11 pounder. After I knew what the price would be I told her I would not want to practice on that. So I asked her for some chicken breasts, thought I asked for the boneless breast in the display but as I was paying they had wrapped up 4 fryer chickens. So I have some chickens to cook. Small enough I think two might fit in a can cooker. I have a beer can chicken stand for the grill. Or just brine em and put em in the smoker. What ever. Got pleny of seasoning options to try.
Gonna roll out in morning. Had plans to bring atv and go trail ride, but now just gonna hang out and take it easy at camp. And cook some chickens! Haha!
See ya
Ummmmmm, last December?
And like a million posts and pictures of his "woods bike", making me very jealous!
I could load her up and let everyone ride it. Might help the local economy by putting some people in that little hospital in town🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑
So that's an invitation to me to ride it?
100 miles away in a frog strangler...will wait an hour and then continue on...
Enjoying a hot cup of Texas Pecan coffee...and waiting it out.
At least the bike is getting cleaned with a nice rinse!
Hows the campsite fairing withe the weather?
Another good day to have the King of Fleece waterproof seat cover on!

Any word on Darren?
Awe Paul, you posted a picture of my poor crashed Griso. It looks so sad there in the rain.
Can't wait to get it home and start taking care of it's broken bits.
Made it home. Was damn glad I was NOT on the Jackal. Hit an arctic cold front just north of Stillwater and it got f"n cold. Stopped for some gas at us60 and I-35 and it felt like winter. Strong north wind, some spitting rain mist, not fun.
I have a blue umbrella and a blue soft cooler that were left at the camp ground. They will stay in the bus until Cedar vale.
Even though it was a soggy weekend, it was still fun to hang out with everyone.
See ya at Cedar vale!
Rod
Does the umbrella have CoxHealth on it?
What a feast! If anyone didn't get enough to eat, something is wrong. Thanks to all the chefs.
The leather cap i was wearing belonged to the late Don Messerly. His widow gave me the hat to wear to rallies so in a way Don would still be riding.
Last week the a/c was on and now I'm trying to find some dry far (ha ha fire) wood.
Tex
The Grappa in the hot coffee was a welcome addition on a cold rainy day!
As was the offer of a warm dry place to sleep. Very gracious
Dusty
Got my EV back thursday,It was a bad crank sensor and Donelson only charged me $90 to check out everything, install the sensor and keep the bike for 2 weeks. wonderful dealer.
He agreed because we were on a trip but cautioned that he was no longer a dealer and might not be able to get parts. If you need work done give them a call.I was referred there by the new MG dealer who didn't want to work on an old guzzi.
It would to me, ya big lug.
Sounds like this will be a great event. Most likely some of you are new to camping.
Maybe you can get some tips on equipment here. Some is expensive, some is not.
Promise you, hiking, and camping is habit forming. And good for ya too!
https://sectionhiker.com/
There are trails that run for 40 miles that start about 50' from where we gather for the Okie . The Ouchita mountains present a challenge for even very experienced hikers , we have fed and watered more than one hiker who came stumbling into the park on the verge of collapse .Well then just sit around the campfire drinking Jack and smoking weed.
Dusty
Well then just sit around the campfire drinking Jack and smoking weed.
Like everything else, ya gotta know your limits, and practice.
I'd take hiking over sitting on my ass throwing bullshit every time.
You can do whatever you like.
I never have time to sit much at a rally , normally I walk 20 miles answering questions and treating an injury when someone who has been drinking whiskey falls over a fire ring :laugh:You didn't need to criticize my post. That is no different than someone saying, don't ride motorcycles because you could get into an accident.
Dusty
You didn't need to criticize my post. That is no different than someone saying, don't ride motorcycles because you could get into an accident.
Hiking, camping is something any family or group of friends can enjoy. Whether you go one mile, or twenty-five.
And if you just hang out at the event you'll likely need a tent, cooking stuff, headlamps, etc.
Sorry to upset ya
Yogi, you can get your medical card here and partake the flower. There is a ban on smoking in the pavilion but the park manger usually give us stogie puffers a break. I don't know if I'd push an issue where discretion is a charm.Sounds like you're an expert on that stuff. Don't forget your rolling papers and munchies.
Sounds like you're an expert on that stuff. Don't forget your rolling papers and munchies.
I am afraid I don't have the family medical card. But you're more or less right on the rest. But I'll only be caring stogies and scotch with me, provided I can get a spot for my travel trailer. :boozing:
........and if I'm riding, I'll pass on a beer.
I hear the cook is kinda interested in knowing who's in

Doug~count me in for Friday and Sat until noon or so!
Bump . We do need to start getting a head count .
Dusty
I will try to come but there is a possible conflict on this end. I guess you can count me as 1/2 and if I can't make it my G5's PO will eat my share ofhotdogs and potato saladshrimp and ribs?
John
I plan to be there. Just one physical person, albeit multiple personalities.
I will probably not be one my little Guzzi, but I will at least be taking an air-cooled Italian V-twin. Can’t miss a chance to do the Duck on Talimena Parkway.
Did you get the body work on the Ducati fixed?
Yep, good as new! Turns out there was a good guy a couple of miles from my house who has a custom Harley/chopper shop. He had never worked on a Ducati before but did a fine job.
Not doing that again. I’m now constantly on the lookout for secure footing.

Doug gave me a heads-up.
I am trying to get a site. If so, I plan to have the travel trailer.
Looks like there are no slots available. I hate to miss the campout but so it goes. If anyone wants to double up with my trailer give me a buzz.
John , there was a recent cancellation , there should be a spot open . We've been trying to get everyone's attention on this for several months .
Dusty
Send me a report Shorty.
You're not coming?
The place is sold out, so there's no place to camp with my travel trailer
I'll be glad to share a spot or offer a bed.
Maybe I'll see you in Grove tomorrow?
Throw a tent and a bike in the back of your truck. I have #8 reserved. I need the electric for my CPAP, and I have invited 4 other riders who will probably tent it if they show. How many tents can we squeeze in one campsite? I have other plans for tomorrow, but thanks.
The host just called me and said they'd squeeze me in next to Doug and we can share the electric. I've got batteries so might not even need electric. I just needed a place to park.
The only deal, I haven't told Doug. Shorty, please tell him.
Yo , Dougie , John L needs to share a spot wich ya . Gotta problem wit dat ?
You could just shoot Doug a message , the technology exists
Dusty
Thanks for asking him Dusty.
I didn't want to get his temper.
Doug is supposed to be in Grove tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing everyone. Probably won't be there until Friday morning. I will almost certainly work until three on Thursday and then head out and find a place to park for the night.
How many Thursday arrivals do we have ? Maybe we should consider just eating in town that evening , the little cafe on the highway is pretty decent .
Dusty
I'll be there Thursday.
I'll bring the BBQ pork rinds
:boozing:
Thursday alsoDave, Along with your meal request, ask for organic threads of saffron!
Cafe is fine as long as they offer a low-fat, salt-free gluten-free, vegan
entre.
Shorty and I are eating healthy this year.
Dave
Galveston
With Tabasco Sauce?
Getting close now.
For those of you who worry about a little rain ................... ...........
Dusty
Just read Dusty may or may not show. That leaves me and Schurke to take care of Fubar. Is it still prevailing wage?
Not in OK. Not a right to work state.
Around when(ish) will people go ride the Talimena drive on Saturday? It's looking like I may not be able to leave until Friday morning, so I'm wondering what time I should plan on being there to get in on the ride.
I should roll in Thursday. Will bring grill along to help with cookn. Maybe a couple beer can chickens. May bring atv along to trail ride. Thinkn about trail riding over to nearby range for some needed high velocity therapy.
See ya,
Rod
It ain't gonna rain.
Have scheduled my aromatherapy session for Saturday morning.
Mine will be standing downwind drinking coffee while Doug is fixing breakfast. :food:
Are reservations required for tent sites? I'm strongly leaning towards coming, but won't know for sure until a few days before.
I can't imagine a tent camper getting turned away. We will make room
What Doug said .
We have the entire area around the pavilion , and there will be open spaces on the South end of the park .
Dusty
Will there be any fall colors yet by then?
Will there be any fall colors yet by then?
It ain't gonna rain.
It's OK Kevin , we can use our imagination and pretend the water falling from the sky is a giant sprinkler system
Dusty
OK, maybe it will rain while we're all sleeping.

No Turnip farmers or Beavers?
I don't let anyone know if I'm illegally crossing a state line. Does someone want to take my place when it is Friday date night in prison? SmithSwede is not doing pro bono work nor does he want to take a case that he has no chance in winning.
Will I be there? I couldn't get someone to post the $200 bail bond last time. Is it worth crossing the Red River to have a good time at the Okie camp out? HMMM, decisions.
Tex. I think smith Swede in more of a quid pro quo kinda guy 😃

I'm still on the fence. I don't know that I feel like riding all the way from CenTex in the rain tomorrow.

This popped up on my FB page from 5 years ago. It's just before the big monsoon hit that blessed me with 2 inches of rain in my tent.
We're planning on heading out of SGF about 10:00 if we don't get a rain delay.
Was that the year of the Bigfoot sighting that scared Colleen at 2 AM ?Yes, I think it was........
Dusty
Unfortunately, overtime notice for the weekend just went up at work, so I won't be able to attend. On the bright side, next year, I'll have an additional week of vacation, so I'll be able to save some time for this. Hope you all ride safe, and have a good time!BUMMER : (
I’m going to try to get out of here at 10: am tomorrow or when the rain passes thru here.Rudyr
Glad you guys had a good time. Sorry I missed it, weather and machinery conspired against me. Warm and dry were my preferences.
Sat and Sun were warm and dry . It was the clearest on the Mountain I've seen in years .
Dusty
But Thursday and Friday, not so much.
We went east out of Peauteau over to Booneville, Ar. then N on 23. Perfect ride day AND got to see a Corvette burn up too!
I didn't do much photography <shrug>

The entire Louisiana contingent made it home safely Sunday without any mishaps. This year the weather really showed out. What a beautiful weekend. It was fantastic to be among friends again. We really should do it again sometime.
Dave
It was a great weekend!!!
Really the only downside was Dusty telling us all about that tragic shooting in Philadelphia back in 1724. Some Hessian mercenary started talking smack with a Kentucky Mountain Man about his mule being cross eyed. Hessian got shot in the eye with a .75 caliber flintlock.
I don’t know all the details, but Dusty does.
Major bummer.
No group photo on the top of the Scenic Parkway or near the Queen Wilhelmina lodge or locomotive?
You guys too averse to doing a group shot this year...you're breaking tradition!
:thumb: :thumb:
